The Weeknd’s “After Hours” First Week Sales Projections

The Weeknd decided to quench fans thirst for his music by dropping a whole new project titled “After Hours” amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

The album which has no features according Abel in a statement regarding his decision to release this new album in the face of a global crisis, said, “Let the music heal us all during these dark times.”

While the album cannot literally stop the COVID-19 pandemic, music lovers have been jamming to the fresh tracks ever since and it looks to be on its way to being the #1 album in the country.

According to Hits Double Daily, “After Hours” is on set to move more than 400,000 album equivalent units in its first week. Of those units, more than 200,000 are expected to come from traditional album sales.

And if these projections are correct, After Hours could very well be the biggest debut of 2020, surpassing BTS’ “Map of the Soul: 7”, which earned 422,000 units in its first week.

In comparison to The Weeknd’s previous album, “Starboy” which moved 348k copies in the first week, while “Beauty Behind The Madness” sold 412K units in 2015.
