Cardi B Reacts To Instagram Move To Remove The ‘Likes’ Count

Cardi B has also shared her thoughts concerning the recent move by Instagram to remove the ‘Likes’ counts on one’s post which has been a subject of discussion since.

Nicki Minaj has earlier blasted the platform for removing ‘Likes’ as it just doesn’t sit well with her.

“So basically no, Instagram is going to take everyone’s likes simply because … they don’t want you to go off on the side, forming all sorts of businesses and being able to say, you know, ‘I get this amount of likes’ and charging brands.”

“They want you to have to pay them,” she continued. “See, if you pay them, then that’s why we have all these sponsored Instagram posts and that’s why we changed up not having Instagram posts in chronological order. Remember, they did that first. So they had to shuffle it real quick to let you know you ain’t the boss,” she complained.

But according to Cardi B, the social media app is focusing on the wrong things. The Instagram feature that could really be refurbished is the ‘Comments Section.’

“It’s a big ruckus right now that the likes on Instagram are getting taken away,” she began. ” I feel like in the beginning of Instagram, everything was so fun, people wanted to post their pictures, get likes.”

“It just took a weird turn, was when people started to like the comments, when they were allowed to like comments or reply back to somebody’s comments,” she said.

Cardi B also addressed the dangers of Instagram’s comment sections, making a case for its role in cyberbullying and good-old-fashioned “clout chasing.”

“If anything is affecting Instagram right now, it’s the way the comments have been done or have been changing these past few years,” she continued.

“I feel people been saying the most weirdest shit, been starting the craziest arguments, been starting to race bait … because they want to get to the top, they want to get the most reactions. And that’s what I feel. The comments affect more than the likes.”
